CAMPER + ECKHAUS LATTA

The Eckhaus Latta duo, known for their deconstructed and avant-garde design, but at the same time really easy to wear, is the latest young talent to collaborate with Camper. Inspired by the block-heeled boot and by the athletic sock, the result is a knitted shoe with an unconventional aesthetic, available in grey, mustard and off-white. For this project the duo also produced this video entirely filmed in Mallorca that features actress/model Hari Nef.

LEONARD COHEN has died yesterday
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Another icon and (not only) musical visionary passed away this year. I am asking myself: "What´s happening in his 2016?" Leonard Cohen was 82. A post on his official Facebook page said, "It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away. We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date. The family requests privacy during their time of grief."

The music legend released his latest, 14th album "You Want It Darker" just few weeks ago.

THE ART OF EVERYDAY

What is behind of this evocative title that introduces a second collaboration between COS and MR PORTER? Simple. It´s about simple things that can improve your everyday journey, like taking a walk or reading a good book, reflected into a 35-piece capsule collection of functional, practical, timeless and usable garments. Available on mrporter.com, cosstores.com and in selected COS stores from today, October 27.

SUPREME X AQUASCUTUM

Supreme teamed with an iconic label founded in Mayfair, London in 1851, the one that has a really long and rich history. Aquascutum was the first-ever brand who developed the waterproof textile and consequently a trench coat that was worn by the British military during the Crimean War and both World Wars. Only in 1976 they introduced their well-known and iconic "Club Check" pattern that was present in the inside of jackets and scarfs. This print is also one of the staples in this collaboration, where the heritage brand, sometimes maybe too formal gets a little street flavour.

ICONIC KATE

Talking about the past, if a post-ago was Madonna´s 1983 is now time to take a look ten years later, to the year 1993. A time when an only 19 y/o Kate Moss was featured on ultra-famous images made by David Sims for Calvin Klein´s underwear campaign. These pictures are now released, actually correctly to say printed on white or black T-shirts as an exclusive collaboration between Calvin Klein and Opening Ceremony. Great, right? And what´s even greater is that they are a part as an initiative to support amfAR, the American Foundation for AIDS Research. So, click and shop!

VICTORIA BECKHAM´S 5 MINUTE FACE

I really like Victoria, she is really funny and a hard-working woman. I really like most of Vogue videos and found them well-made and with a certain sense of humour. So how it works when the two join together? Great! What is the reason?  Her new collaboration with Estee Lauder that will be launched in September. BTW I guess you already want to know what she used in this video. With pleasure:

WATANABE-DINKELACKER

For his F/W 2016/2017 menswear collection Junya Watanabe collaborated with Heinrich Dinkelacker  This German footwear house since 1879, which ateliers are located in Budapest is one of the last ending footwear House´s, especially when thinking about their working process, on how much attention they give to the entire creative part and of course the accurate selection of materials and leathers. For their first collaboration Junya decided to reinterpret the Dinkelacker´s well-known "Rio" model, a classic, must-have shoe that ever man should have a pair. The designer maintained the House´s iconic studded sole, but refreshed this derby shoe by using new leather, in dark brown or black.

first look of CHRISTOPHE LEMAIRE´s uniqlo u
____________________________________

Four days ago, among all Haute Couture glitter-feather-drama showcased garments, Uniqlo and Christophe Lemaire presented their latest collaboration, his first as a creative director of the new line "Uniqlo U"and it worked well, like a great balance or a needed juxtaposition to the all that glam-sequined world. At the same time the first images of the collection, their F/W 2016/2017 campaign was released and by so far what we see it´s a great continuation of Lemaire´s effortless minimalism, functionality, season-less silhouettes and timeless aesthetic, mixed with Uniqlo´s technical innovation, sportswear-oriented  and the capacity to make good quality affordable. Since the beginning of this new adventure, they had a slogan from Charles and Ray Eames in mind: "The best for the most for the least," that explains the whole concept Uniqlo U - The line is built from a very Uniqlo point of view, it is rooted in the very DNA of Uniqlo, elevated basics, an ideal version of Uniqlo. The first collection will arrive in stores worldwide in October.

SOPHIE BUHAI FOR LEMAIRE

It´s rare nowadays in every business-sphere, especially in the chaotic, most of the time cold fashion one to find a natural way to start the collaboration. This rare exception and we deeply hope that this will not remain as the rare one, but to be served as an example, happened between Los Angeles jeweller Sophie Buhai and Lemiare, the brand that is a true epitome of discreet luxury and timeless elegance.  Somehow it went this way; Buhai contacted in an old-fashion way the brand that she would Love to collaborate with them. Sarah-Linh Tran, the label´s half creative mind, discovered Buhai´s same culture and sensitivity that made her decide to give a try to this collaboration. The rest is history with an incredible result, translated into elegant, but very statement pieces, like sterling silver and enamel cuffs, long silver earrings and an enamelled bronze barrette that made debut on Lemaires S/S 2016 fashion show.  Discover and shop the collection here.

Hermès has produced pre-collections since 2004 but chosen not to show them to the press, until this summer, when the French luxury brand will have its first-ever pre-collection presentation, set to take place at the soon-to-be unveiled location in Paris on July 3, a day when city´s haute couture week starts. The presentation will have an intimate-approach with less than 100 people invited, press, top clients and family included and will feature pre-spring 2016 looks designed by women’s ready-to-wear artistic director Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski.

ANNELIE SCHUBERT X PETIT BATEAU

For me all these years was and still is Petit Bateau a synonym for the typical Breton top or inverserly, when I mind the famous white top with navy blue stripes, I got Petit Bateau in my mind. Last three years the French brand, founded in 1920 as a brand of underwear (they invented the modern underpants cutting the legs of the long johns), collaborates with the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography and their annual winner of the Première Vision Grand Prize. After Satu Maaranen in 2014 and Kenta Matsushige last year, was now a turn for Annelie Schubert to make a capsule collection with the brand. The four piece collection made by the 29-year-old Franco-German designer, who trained with Haider Ackermann after her art and design studies in Berlin, is composed by two models of draped T-shirts, a stripped jersey dress with padded shoulders and a draped one.

SACAI´S FIRST JEWELLERY COLLECTION

A 16 year old brand, founded by Chitose Abe after a decade at Comme des Garçons, cannot be happier with its new venture, especially when the not ordinary, but literally something-extraordinary design of Sacai can be with the help of Danish jeweller Sophie Bille Brahe translated into a jewellery world. The two met for the first time casually in London last year during Dover Streez Market´s 10th birthday celebration. The fact that Abe became quite fast a big fan of Brahe´s sculptural work and also owner of few pieces made by her, made almost a natural follow-step to do a capsule collection of fine jewellery together. The 10-piece earring collection, crafted from 14- and 18-karat yellow gold, pearls and diamond, debuted under the name "sacaisophiebillebrahe" on Sacai S/S 2016 Paris fashion week runway. Build from Brahe´s Elipse spear and Croissant moon designs, the pieces are characterized by round stones and curved lines, with diamonds rows ascending up the ear and those gold fringes hanging toward shoulders.

UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE S/S 2016

After exceeding all expectations with their winter collection, the successful collaboration tandem is back with a new, even more extended one. The Uniqlo and Lemaire S/S 2016 is composed of total 72 pieces, 37 men’s and 35 women’s, with each piece having at least two colour-options. Lemaire continues to share with Uniqlo what he knows the best; a timeless and effortless elegance, made by clever, flexible and versatile pieces, this time in Ginger, mahogany, honey, blue-green,  ash grey and other half-tones seemingly faded by years of summer sun, that are worn with deep blacks and luminous whites. Clean silhouettes, consistently generous volumes and numerous, spacious pockets are conceived to free up your hands and ease your movements. Each piece can be worn in a different way, for different occasions, meaning a perfect selection of day-to-night garments.

The collection will be available online and in selected shops from March 4, depending on your country.

Somehow is & Other Stories lately following the big sister´s (brand H&M) footsteps, by making collaborations with various designers and creative. Since the opening its first stores back in 2013, the young brand (which is under the same roof as the big sister H&M) can pride itself with yet really successful collaborations; from Rachel Antonoff and Vika Gazinskaya, to the latest one made with a stylist Ada Kokosar. All Lemaire and/or less is more and/or essentialist lovers, here comes a great news! If you were among (many, believe me…me inclusive) those, who haven´t “reach out” for all of yours favourite, on-wish-list products or even none of them, due the fact that in the uniqlo shops went literally sold out in few hours and in the web-shop you can find only some rare “exemplars”…there´s a second chance! I am not talking about the re-stock of the collection, which can also happen; who knows? I am talking about that Uniqlo confirmed the second collection in collaboration with Lemaire . Spring 2016, here we come!
