_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Hermès has produced pre-collections since 2004 but chosen not to show them to the press, until this summer, when the French luxury brand will have its first-ever pre-collection presentation, set to take place at the soon-to-be unveiled location in Paris on July 3, a day when city´s haute couture week starts. The presentation will have an intimate-approach with less than 100 people invited, press, top clients and family included and will feature pre-spring 2016 looks designed by women’s ready-to-wear artistic director Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski.

it´s CALVIN KLEIN´s turn
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Drama-acts seem not to have an end in the fashion world. Already countless changes happened this year, here came a new one. All the birds sang it, so all the ears should heard it – that this time was a "cleaning" moment, or it´s properly and more kind to say "refreshment" at Calvin Klein. The design duo, Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli, are exiting from the company, in other words, after 13 years Costa as a creative director of Calvin Klein Collection's womenswear line and Zucchelli as a creative director of Calvin Klein Collection's menswear line, are no longer part of this American brand. Some speculations about why this move and consequently about the duo´s (possible) successor are already mentioned in one of the novelties below.

Wang is only 31 and his namesake brand is already celebrating its first 10th anniversary with a retrospective capsule collection. How is that? Super cool, isn´t it? He started his own venture at the age of 21 and only after two years at Parsons. In this decade the brand rose a lot and is still doing, not to mention his nearly three years as the creative director of Balenciaga.

The 10 items capsule collection, starring Anna Ewers in the lookbook photographed by Gregory Harris, among others features fall 2008´s low waisted leather pants, spring 2009´s mesh dress with graphic embellishment, fall 2009´s moto leather jacket with fur fringe and the spring 2010´s athletic-inspired leather shorts. CHANEL´s new challenge
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Chanel is breaking its rules and is going out into the world of online shopping. Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s president of fashion, confirmed the house’s plan to launch e-commerce that could happen in the upcoming autumn (next September to be more specific). “It’s not so much a shift. It’s an evolution to better serve our customers. So it’s more e-service than a pure e-commerce approach.” Pavlovsky explained.

DEAR MY FRIEND

I know you were all thrilling about the Isabel Marant X H&M collection,  but there is a “but” thing that I would Love to point out. Well, nothing against that collaboration, that I have no doubts it will have its merited success, but let´s focus to an another collaboration with H&M. The one from the winner of H&M´s 2013 Design Award* (selected by a jury composed of Jonathan Saunders, Tim Blank, Sølve Sundsbø and Leith Clar) , South Korean designer Minju Kim, hailed from the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, studyed under Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Van Saene.

Her winning collection, titled “Dear friend” among other finalists was not a very commercial or minimal for H&M standards, but convinced the jury, because of her "unique design signature, one that combines playfulness, fantasy and optimism with great creativity and technical skill." The collection was originally made for her 3rd year endcollection, presented in the Royal Academy of Antwerp and also won the prize (since that she already graduated).

She was inspired by the Japanese horror manga artist Ito Junji, a play between the innocence and the horror-side. Her work is a celebration of peplums, rich colors and textures. At the end we all were curious how H&M will adapt for selling commercial.  Surprisingly the soul of her “Dear Friend” remained, nothing was lost and we get a capsule collection made of nine pieces (and two accessories), composed by trapeze short dresses, round sleeved sweatshirts and a collarless cocoon coat. The price range for this lovely portion of unique design, range from 19,95 Eur to 149 Eur.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of this brave step (step ahead of course) of H&M from the customer´s side, when it hits selected H&M stores (in Sweden, Denmark, the US, UK, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany) and online on October 17th. There is one more interesting fact, news from, that this collection will be also available at the Opening Ceremony (first time for H&M) in New York, Los Angeles and London.

Still just for Marant thing?

/ left: Heart top 49,95 Eur, right: Shinny pants 49,95 Eur /

There is also a T-shirt 19,95 Eur and the black sleeved sweatshirt 29.95 Eur, both can shown in the H&M official photos (see up).

*  Every year an esteemed jury together with H&M would select one BA student from the elite fashion schools of Europe to receive 50,000 Eur as a prize and collaborate with the chain to produce a capsule collection.

ANOTHER H&M COLLABORATION STORY - ISABEL MARANT

And here we are again...same story, different designer. After Kar Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Versace, Marni and Maison Martin Margiela...now it´s turn for Mrs. Marant. What for? For another designer collaboration with H&M. Are you surprised? Well, frankly i am not! Maybe a surprise part for me  come that they choose Marant for the colder instead of warmer season (that would be my decision :) ).

Isabel told: "I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honor: I aim to create something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one's own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality."

"We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban, makes her very contemporary. She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear. We are sure the H&M customers will be enthusiastic about this collection" said H&M creative adviser Margareta Van Den Bosch."

And i guess that from today on there will be (again yes :) ) big debates between two opposite sides: one a pro and one against of these kind of collaborations.

The collection, which will feature clothing and accessories for men* and women, will arrive in stores on November 14.

* Yep, for men too :) Can not wait to see Isabel Marant´s men version for the very first time.
