CLASS ICO

A sort of homage to the talent of Matthieu Blazy at Bottega Veneta, from the upcoming year a newly appointed creative director of Chanel. A few minutes of class ico.

A Bottega Veneta bralette top, crafted from crocheted cotton to a cropped hem, softly frames your silhouette with a V-neck and knitted triangle cups., paired with the matching skirt, both in colour bone/cloud and featuring snap button closure. Perfect summer attire!

SILK SUMMER

Are you seeking the ideal addition to your summer wardrobe? Picture an item that is not only lightweight and breathable but also effortlessly stylish and exceptionally comfortable. This piece is designed to keep you cool and dry, offering a luxurious feel without any stickiness. It resists wrinkles more effectively than linen or cotton, making it perfect for travel, and is equally suitable for a vacation or lounging at home. When you wear this item, you'll experience a sense of tranquillity and sophistication, as if you're perpetually at a luxurious resort.

GLOOMY DAYS

One day is almost like being on a summer holiday, while the next day is the opposite, giving us a feeling that autumn is knocking on the door. Nothing unusual, I guess, but the drastic differences are not so habitual. What should we wear as a final layer when we are not so or not at all spoiled by the sun?

ANDIAMO!

I am not really into special beach-pool-summer bags, but this one by Bottega Veneta caught my eye, and not only! This canvas and leather with a knot detail and sliding cross-body strap, comes in two sizes, a small (20x25x10cm) a large (35x42x18cm) and the backpack version.

Which to pick? No doubt the larger one, and andiamo (let´s go)!

AN ODE TO CHICNESS

If you don´t mind some overly-done pieces like puzzle-like patchworks seen on leather jackets, some sweaters and even on shirts, the collection would be a really an ode to chicness. Especially in love with the oversized balloon trousers cinched in the waist or the wide-leg suede ones, not to mention comfortable double-breasted suits and silk trenches. Tomas Maier´s slouchy and elongated lines for the summer 2017 are a true winner, especially when monochromatic or not playing with drastic contrasts. Dear men, take some notes.

THE ROW holds their pre-fall imagery
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

What Céline has done for years and still doing it, some American brands are following the French luxury house steps. What I am talking about? About releasing high-resolution images of pre-collections right on a day when these collections are hitting stores. As it did Proenza Schouler two weeks ago, now it´s time for The Row to hold the brand´s pre-fall imagery until April.  Everybody who was invited – fashion business insiders – to take a look at the brand´s latest collection, was also informed that there will be not distributive images of the collection until the mid-April, when it starts hitting sales floors.

So there will probably be a bit of “hard-time” for Zara and other fashion-street-like retailers that intensively all these years “used” some ideas straight from big-brands and turned them into their fast-selling collections; but I guess that Inditext (Zara´s mother-house) will not be stopped by the first obstacle on its way, when made only in first 9 months this year 2 billion of profits. Don´t you think?

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

After New York and Los Angeles, Isabel Marant picked San Francisco for her third store in the US. On 26th of June at 455 Jackson Street, Marant opened the 2300 square feet of retail space, designed by Franklin Azzi Architecture. The store, on the ground level of the Hotaling Building, features fitting rooms made with white painted wooden panels, to give them a look of art containers and linear fluorescent tube lighting and Pierre de Paris stone.

INTRECCIATO JEWELRY TRUNKS

The famous intrecciato nappa leather technique from Bottega Veneta, which involves weaving thin strips of the leather together, is now available also as a tree travel cases, to hold your most prized jewellery possessions. Maybe this could be a lovely Christmas gift tip?

MILAN FASHION WEEK F/W 2014/2015

Italian´s F/W 2014/2015 was a bit different from what we saw in New York or London; in major cases more baroque*, much more sheer-see through elements **, the length of skirt was shorter in Milan*** and Italian designers really like to "invest" a big part of their collection to dresses****.
