For his F/W 2016/2017 menswear collection Junya Watanabe collaborated with Heinrich Dinkelacker This German footwear
house since 1879, which ateliers are located in Budapest is one of the last
ending footwear House´s, especially when thinking about their working process,
on how much attention they give to the entire creative part and of course
the accurate selection of materials and leathers. For their first collaboration
Junya decided to reinterpret the Dinkelacker´s well-known "Rio" model, a
classic, must-have shoe that ever man should have a pair. The designer
maintained the House´s iconic studded sole, but refreshed this derby shoe by
using new leather, in dark brown or black.
