Sonia Rykiel's Knitwear for H&M

Sonia Rykiel's second (and most highly anticipated) collection for H&M will debut in stores on February 20th. Following the lingerie line which included boudoir-style evening wear, the new knitwear pieces are classically French and distinctly Rykiel. Cheerful striped sweater dresses and tops mix with dotted leggings, sailor shorts and jumpers for a decidedly fun take on spring fashion.

Sonia Rykiel S/S 2010 / PFW / Day five

Known for her feisty style, Rykiel delivered all of her hallmarks: flirty knits, sexy lingerie looks and ruffles galore. The seventies underscored much of the effort. Padded mini skirts and jackets in vibrant colors from pink to lime opened the show, leading to the likes of a transparent raincoat or a translucent lace dress dappled with sequins. Amongst these were knit dresses fluttering with ruffles, cute jumpsuits and sexy dresses with myriad bows. Rykiel didn’t take her style anywhere new, but the clothes had energy.
