NOVELTIES #54

RAF SIMONS + calvin klein
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

All rumours and speculations are finally over, because from Tuesday 02.08 is official – Raf Simons joins Calvin Klein as the new Chief Creative officer with his long-time collaborator (right hand) Pieter Mullier as creative director. The brand confirmed that with a statement posted on Instagram.
Surprised? Despite everything he said in his press release announcing his “divorce” from Dior “It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work,” not at all. What good/ great he can/ will bring to the brand and even to the whole NewYork Fashion (scene), as usual time and, of course, facts will tell. Cheers to Raf!

VOGUE PARIS MARCH 2015

"Lara, Daria and Kate might not have been born in France, but they each represent a vision of the archetypal French woman for this month's cover. A Frenchwoman who knows like no other, how to get what she wants when it comes to the opposite sex," writes Emmanuelle Alt, Vogue Paris editor-in-chief, in her March 2015 editorial. All three in the same "Basic Instinct" pose and wearing Prada´s S/S 2015 leather trenchcoat. Which is your favourite one?

pssst...at the end have you noticed something?...something familiar?  Yes, you´re right. All three covergirls did in the same way three covers of Vogue Paris September 2012 issue.

- SIMPLY- MADONNA

We are in a really strange era...the era where a naked, oversize bottom is well appreciated and accepted, while non-artificially corrected breasts are banned, slayed...a taboo! Especially when it comes for women close to her 60´s. This kind of response (I doubt is the last one) got Madonna´s new photo that will be featured in the upcoming Interview December/January issue. I am horrified of the idea that I am living surrounded by hypocrisy and judgments. People are pointing a finger to a woman, that is (with an extra help or not) aging graciously, maintaining her physical and mental condition on a top to-envy level. To be proud of yourself, your look, is wrong? To have a body that many women half her age doesn´t have and be proud of it, is wrong? Really? Is this the reason of the descrimination? Which human being can dictate to another one how to live, think, look and feel? Are we really at that point? Again? Instead of getting forward, with respect, we are getting far-way back.
The only tip that I can give to those kind of people, beside „think with your own head“, is read and learn, before you start judging and pointing finger (which is kind’ a massive trend in last years). At the end you don´t need to be no one’s fan or admirer, to start really understanding things.

Maybe it`s a good start here (for this particular case).

MADONNA FOR VERSACE S/S 2015 FIRST LOOK

Here are four images of 12-page portfolio from the new Versace S/S 2015 ad campaign, starring Madonna. The campaign will officially set to break next spring in magazines including Vanity Fair and the American, French and Italian editions of Vogue. This is Madonna´s fourth campaign for the house of Medusa.

GIVENCHY S/S 2014 AD CAMPAIGN

Mixing guest-stars like Erykah Badu and Asia Chow (the 19 y/o daughter of famous Anglo-Chinese restaurateur Michael and Korean-American fashion designer Eva Chun) and  models like Maria Borges, Eboni Riley and Dominik Bauer, under the lenses of Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, is the (not new) "trick" from Mr. Tisci´s Givenchy ad campaign. Love to see Erykah (but not in her best here; she looks much much more). Not bad neither good for me; maybe i expected more tribality in the campaign after what we saw on the S/S 2014 runway. Your thoughts?

STELLA McCARTNEY WINTER 2013 CAMPAIGN

Another nothing special campaign for Winter 2013...the clothes are super beautifull (one of my favorite F/W 2013/2014 collections), but the campaign photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and featuring Suvi Koponen and Chiharu Okunugi super-nothing special and new.
