VOGUE PARIS FEBRUARY 2016

I must say that I am not a big fan of this cover made by Inez and Vinoodh, featuring Eddie Campbell, but this February 2016 issue promises something good; beside the preview of the S/S 2016 translated in total 107 looks and three lessons in style (like for example adapting runway looks for the real life on the street) photographed among others by Alasdair McLellan, Mario Sorrenti and the already mentioned duo Inez and Vinoodh, this issue will also feature rising screen stars Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Leïla Slimani and Saphia Azzedine, as well as Vincent Lindon and Winona Ryder.

VOGUE PARIS DECEMBER/JANUARY 2016

There are three covers, three photographers (actually four) and one special guest for this bi-monthly issue by Vogue Paris, Vanessa Paradis. As the magazines describes in their preview: “Radiant and strong in front of the lens for Inez and Vinoodh, enigmatic for David Sims or flashing her trademark natural smile for Karim Sadli across three limited edition Vogue Paris covers, as a closet fan of kaleidoscopes Vanessa Paradis is a woman of many facets.”

This special edition challenges, as it did in the past with other fashion icons, like Ines de la Fressange or Kate Moss for instance, to co-ordinate the issue as a guest editor.

French Vogue describes its upcomming issue with following words:

- We're adopting "a season of freedom" as our summer mantra, with a wardrobe punctuated with slick black, that already heralds Fall," write Emmanuelle Alt, Vogue Paris editor-in-chief, in her August 2015 editorial. This issue is all about the glowing vision of summer youth, beauty and health in a radiant introduction to a fashion issue that features Mica Arganaraz and Julia van Os alongside Anna in Fall/Winter 2015-2016 looks for the Sauvage Innocence story. There will be also Arthur Dreyfus' interview of Francesco Vezzoli, private visit of Victoire de Castellane's summer home on the Ile de Ré and many more. -

When Saint Laurent was still with Yves and when the brand still got that modern-elegant and with the touch of glamour aesthetic. When marketing was important, but in the way to obscure the clothes. That was the time when YSL was YSL. And I miss it.

Valentino´s F/W 2013/2014 under the InezVan Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin lens evocate the golden age Flemish portraiture.

Women are incorporated in images that represented paintings. There are images with still life elements (bunch of grapes, vase of flowers, a fish,..) to revive the idea of Flemish age.

The cast of models includes: Magdalena Jasek, Irina Kravchenko, Kati Nescher, Sam Rollinson, Maud Welzen, Laura Kampman, Nouk Torsing, Sasha Luss and Erika Labauskaite.

Their images often make it to the cover of different magazines and appear on billboards the world over. Photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who met 25 years ago and have since formed one of the most prolific collaborations in contemporary photography.

A new exhibition in Paris showcases their work.
