NOVELTIES #06

BJORK´s black lake
  _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Here you can see a trailer from a video installation called “Black Lake”, which will be one of the centerpieces at the upcoming exhibition. Which one? Next month MoMA (the Museum of Modern Art) will be hosting a retrospective of Björk's impressive career, showcasing an exhibition of her; from art, experimental video installations, costumes, to interactive audio pieces, and narrative retrospectives from the artist`s last 20 years.
This is the second time that the artist has collaborated with the museum and the new retrospective will be on view from March 8 – June 7 2015.

PAGAN RITUALS

There was no fashion show for Gareth Pugh. There was no Paris for him either. After ten years in the business, he decided to turn a new page; not to erase the past, but somehow make an end point and starting a new one…a new chapter. New York was for him a perfect showcase place for this “new” re-start. In collaboration with Simon Costin, from the Museum of British Folklore, the designer has created a collection inspired by the Anglo-Saxon pagan rituals and some pieces really remind us those rituals; 3D textures, draping with sculptural and theatrical shapes, that Pugh knows how to perfectly deliver, with symbolic elements, like ropes, rags and masks to recall those rituals in contrasting colours of white, black and beige.

Alongside the collection were made three videos, “Megalith”, “Chaos” and “Ascension”, made by a filmmaker and artist Andrew Ascension, combining Gareth Pugh’s designs with performances by models, choreographed by Wayne McGregor.

SWEATSHIRTS

Once they had somehow a "miserable“ role, to be just a garment accompanying you to the gym or any other possible sport activities. To cover you.  They were and still are one of basic clothing elements for skateboarders. Nowadays, especially in this upcoming Fall/Winter 2013/2014 season, they reach a position like a status garment. A piece that goes or you could match with anything possible and imaginable, day to night. It´s unisex. It could be fitted, oversized, glittered, with prints, made by any-possible material…I bet you have almost one piece in your wardrobe!?
To be sincere, I re-discovered this simple, basic piece like two years ago and was Love…again and forever.

Well, here I listed 22 of my favorite (until today) sweatshirts available around different e-shops. For anyone, any type, any taste…male or female. Just click on "Read more" and pick your favorite one! Which one is your favorite?
