BACK TO ROOTS

Is this only a case that after the brand´s majority stake was acquired by the Belgian fashion fund CLCC SA last April, the result is a way stronger than some recent ones? Regardless new money flow or owners, I am just happy that he returned where he started; his origins. Bold, Goth-spirit and masculine influenced, but still enough sexy and feminine. So, the hope is the last to die and this saying is here is so applicable.

Here is not a matter that a lot of designers and fashion editors made from it a seasonal trend. In my opinion the polo should be on the essential list and consequently in the closet of every human-being. It´s like a T-shirt, but less plain. The time when was associated exclusively to man´s wardrobe and especially being pictured just on sport lovers or suburban dads, is way over. Prada and Céline made it desirable (as usual), so thanks to them this season is a true polo-galore…of any-kind – from cashmere, wool or even leather version to a classic-cotton one, from crochet-details to embroideries and graphic prints in any colour and size. Sports and free time one side, the polo is wearable in any occasion, night-one inclusive. And yes, you can wear it as a dress too! Pick your favourite one below.

Yang Li continues his romantic-grunge style also in the S/S 2015 collection. Only two years after establishing his own brand, he is already known by mixing pieces that at first sight may appear the opposite, it´s known that opposites attracts each other. He paired a not really optimistic mottos printed on t-shirts with airy organza shirts and pleated chiffon, long skirts. Nirvana´s look-like flannel pieces mixed with satin skirts or a possible hardness of the leather jacket, waistcoat and shorts with delicate satin, silk and chiffon. From season one till now, Li´s aesthetic is evolving due the manipulation of materials. The only (big) thing that I am concerned of, is that he will remain stuck in his self-made aesthetical barrier; the one is making him well-known.

THE DREAMER

Yang Li is always romantic, minimalistic and streetwear inspired…in one word poetic; so was no surprise that for his F/W 2014/2015, fifth collection and the third runway one, theme was “the dreamer”. Some of the most elegant coats of the season were seen here. Double faced and waist-belted wool parkas with split sides, fur floor-length skirts and bras, sartorial tailoring of slim fit pants and cut-out jackets and blazers and slouchy knee-holed pants for women; leather bombers, loads of calf and wool tailored elements and slouchy pants. Every detail of every single piece is meticulously and perfectly made. If this is a streetwear, is definitely the highest one and I am a big fan of it; after the show I realized, that everything I dreamed of, that day became reality.

Which is the best ever piece during cold winter time? A nice, soft and with good quality sweater. A must! The one to warm you, make you a happy-easy going feeling. No itchy-stichy! no, no, no, no!! It must be a sort of your daily protector; the one that doesn´t make you even more trouble, but the one that will easy you any possible situation (you know which role a teddy bear got in our childhood? Ok, so the same role has the nice sweater...for us, older...pardon I mean grown ones :P).

I picked from most of web-shop sale offers around and pick my seven favorite ones. All of them have same things in common: to be possibly timeless (not just a season thing. I promised to myself to not do a season-buy mistake anymore, but to optate on something with a long lasting effect), soft, best possible materials (mostly wool with less poly-things) and most of them with a price tag lower of 300€.

We are in the time of so called "the transitional weather period", a time when the weather is changing day to day...one day you feel like is springtime (and it´s just a matter of seconds when you will see flower blossoming), then the another day you feel freezing, like it´s the beginning of the winter (and you got a question mark under your head, like: It´s not a time for the snow...it´s too early!!). Consequently every day you do not know what to wear...less or more? The answer is: "layering"! You can feel cozy when it´s cold, but you can still put off few things if the weather wants to play it´s warmer version.

Here I made two daily-wear-urban outfits...which actually you can still mix-match with one-another. The main color is black (never miss it ;) ), brightened with some beige and python. A plus, actually a must in my selection is also the comfort factor: soft and warm materials, combined with no tight garments.

SIMPLY, YANG LI

Yang Li´s collection for the next season is still street style inspired, but this one had a romantic heart. Why? Because it had a lot of wide, ballroom-inspired skirts and nice layering. Because his military-inspired jackets or work wear suits and the Vans sneakers on models feet. Because of unfinished details on garments, like raw edges or the seams of skirts, so you get the infinitive feeling, the dreaminess feeling. Because of the poetic (mhm, note that word…in Paris has been shown a lot on runways) camouflage-patterned burgundy jacquard.

Or just because (I must say it) I simply Love Yang Li´s aesthetic, the great work behind, nice fabrics, perfectly execution and that´s all from a really young brand (this is his fifth show). For me it´s “Chapeau”!

p.s.: It´s like a collection made on my "skin" and totally my taste. So now you already know how I will look like :P

DAILY BLACK-S

After popping some colors, here is my favorite color-non color, black! YESSSS! (Well, we already had one before and I know that there will be more in future ;) ) Even it´s not a pop-up color, it really makes me happy while I am wearing it…I feel most comfortable and it´s also veeery versatile and easiest to combine. Beside the black color, there are three things really important that I "demand" in every garment before I buy it: urban-sporty-but still elegant look, comfort and great quality (I try to invest in less and good, than in tons of cheap-season clothes...i guess that there is some truth in that with years and getting older, you also get wiser, experienced ;) )

Two daily outfits with its belonging shoes and accessories are totally me, a totally what I would Love to wear and have from my (soooo far) favorite shop LN-CC. All pieces are mesh-able, so you can make your own style, look.

BLACK ME

I am way too much sweating right now while I am writing this (the air condition mitigates just a little bit this harsh summer situations) and it´s quite funny that I am actually writing about winter clothes, but i can´t get out of my skin. It´s just me and my biiig Love for this. Actually fall and winter season is my favorite in the clothing term. You are able to wear more things compared to summer when is just a shorts or pants and a T-shirt thing (well, sometimes this less is also way too much - I am repeating myself- like last feeeew days when the temperature is so high and also it´s humid outside).

OK...no summer talking in this post anymore! Let´s concentrate on the fall...winter. As I already said many times before, black is definitely my favorite color and it´s not strange that all garments here selected by me are black! :)

Colder days are so cool, because you can play with layering. Here I propose two different looks, but with the same vibe and with the main object of styling (and desire), a 01 soft winged camp jacket by Rick Owens, made mostly by baby alpaca. Jacket´s boxy silhouette and short sleeves are a perfect option if you would like that your layering would be seen. The first styling include a classic cashmere sweater - need to say a big m u s t to have in your wardrobe - under the before mentioned jacket, here by the label 02 Esk. If the weather will be a bit colder than what you suppose, well why not layer under the sweater a lovely and a bit transparent long sleeve 07 T-shirt by Ann Demeulemeester? This type of T-shirt is really on daily basis.
Underneath we have (yes, yes my Love type of prolongued shorts) 04 wool and silk shorts by Marvielab. The drop crotch and the volume will make your look more relaxed and a bit effortless.
A clever choice of accessories is always what upgrades your look (or in other case it can also be destroyed). I would optate for a nice, really nice pair of 05 Yang Li´s ankle tie derby shoes. For the final touch i would pick 03 Dries Van Note´s raised pattern pony skin bag (that could be worn as a clutch or a shoulder bag) for an extra femininity and the 06 floral cap by Piece D´Anarchive to add to the whole look an urban vibe.

The second look is still urban, daily but:
- a bit less feminine, due the nice (oooh omg, how i want this piece!!) 09 artisanal crafted wedge rucksack by Fleet Ilya
- a bit tight, due the 08 diamond top stictched leggings by Piece D`Anarchive
- a bit tougher due the 10 heavy tread army boots by Rick Owens

These are some of my favorite pieces for (I hope soooon) the upcoming season...the best thing of them is that you can wear them as separates in any possible and imagiable way. So shop and play!

MY ESSENTIALS // WHITE / ON-WISH LIST

Talking about essentials...are those things that your wardrobe must have (not extra only one season crap, but pieces that are and will be re-value-ted every season); this spring/summer is a total white one...and i did not choose this color, because of the trendy thing (well, to be sincere, one reason is also this, of course :P ), but because the white as a (non) color for me is something referenced as clean (yes, i am clean and i wash myself, don´t worry!), light, subtle airy...and maaany more. It become (every time more) my essential color (beside black who is still on top of my chart).

Ok not analyzing the color...because it could become boring; here (see on the photo) my basic essential selection...

...a great, great pair of jeans (a really good investment) and guys, Acne Studios in this is one of the best (well, actually my favorite!); so why not a pair of their 06 Skin 5 jeans in optic white .

I pair them with a wider T-shirt from 05 Organic by John Patrick (it could also a nice long shirt dress or anything with fluid effect, to give more drama on your still simple look).

One of must-to-have (truly must-to-have) and a always a great investment (all pieces here i guess they are) is a leather jacket, and Acne Studios is again a master-maker of that too (in my opinion of course :) ); we all (i guess yes) have in our wardrobe a black leather jacket...so here is a turn-in-to white one (i especially Love their model 01 Rita in white ).

Marques´Almeida is the brand that brought jeans in a grunge-couture-ish level, so if you have (or get) a chance to buy one (or more) things from them, do it, because their pieces will give you an extra edge on your look-s and for me their pieces are sooo on essential list, that´s why their 02 gorgeous sleeveless short top is here.

The top will look great with wide, 3/5 to 3/4 long shorts (i want them also in black and leather as i many times reported before); i pick a perfect exemplar from 03 Yang Li (also one of my favorite designers so far).

To close my essential essentials :) we have (one and only slippers) from 04 Vans and simple, elegant with everything possible to combine 07 rings from Sansoeurs ( as i am not a very jewelry type of person, but i simply Love this brand, because their pieces are so nice and pretentious).

We are not finished, because there is one more thing. A sort of creme de la creme (cherry on top ;) ). A bag (exactly a clutch) of course!! By one and only Maison Martin Margiela. I know, i know...this one is not cheap (not at all!!), but i guarantee you (again??!? YES!!) a piece of clutch that no one will ever have (all clutches look mostly the same-so boring) and the form is simple and unique...and did i already mention an evergreen piece?! ;) yes... definitely is.

Oh god...how much words on just 08 pieces...but they are (yours too?) essentials.
