SOMETHING SPECIAL

Lately I´ve read quite a few harsh critics about Jacquemus S/S 2016 collection. Well, to be frank, I wasn´t sweet either when I´ve talked about his last winter collection. But when I really took some time and I saw how his pieces actual look stunning on people, made me to re-think about my first thought. His clothes are really young, fresh, sweet and sexy at the same time, poetic too; even when they may appear as if playfully rehashing all fashion´s clichés. Be careful with the word “appear” and underline it, because at the end it´s just our first impression-appearance, loads of the time made out of prejudice and so not an actual real fact. There is more than just a hope.

ART-Y-WORK

Ok, Simon Porte Jacquemus is for the second time a semifinalist for the LVMH Young Designer Prize, but was this collection made exclusively for the competition, showing his creative ability and talent? Probably. There were some pieces that may few arty-oriented retailers find interesting to put in their shops, like a coat dress belted on the side or white skirt with a curved slit, but that´s all. In fashion system normally goes like that; if your brand don´t make money, you can´t evolve, so neither survey. Brands, especially at the beginning must pay attention on the selling part and a bit neglect the experimenting side. But when you have a (economical) possibility to do what your heart and soul wants, why you should pay attention on money?

JACQUEMUS F/W 2014/2015

The collection made mostly by a sponge-like material that at first look may appear like neoprene is an eruption of modern, near to futuristic voluminous shapes. Jacquemus opened the collection with plain white tunics, skirts and cropped jackets with oval side pockets an paired with black, slouchy pants, continued with a transparent synthetic organza with circle white and baby-blue appliqués, then continued, back again with layering-cropped pieces firstly in baby-blue then in vivid-blue and near to total black outfits, like the oversize t-shirt and jacket.. Some pale yellow and a strong orange at the end. Beside the slouchy pants, the constant elements present through the whole show are sneakers with white socks.
Still fresh, still very young is Jacquemus for next winter and still a must-to-have are all of his coats; and not only.

Navy blue is with black, white and light grey my favorite color. Probably you already noticed that. ;) It´s cool from day to night, mixing casual-sporty and elegant elements.

LAYERING

We are in the time of so called "the transitional weather period", a time when the weather is changing day to day...one day you feel like is springtime (and it´s just a matter of seconds when you will see flower blossoming), then the another day you feel freezing, like it´s the beginning of the winter (and you got a question mark under your head, like: It´s not a time for the snow...it´s too early!!). Consequently every day you do not know what to wear...less or more? The answer is: "layering"! You can feel cozy when it´s cold, but you can still put off few things if the weather wants to play it´s warmer version.

Here I made two daily-wear-urban outfits...which actually you can still mix-match with one-another. The main color is black (never miss it ;) ), brightened with some beige and python. A plus, actually a must in my selection is also the comfort factor: soft and warm materials, combined with no tight garments.

How you like it? Tell me your opinions.

DAILY BLACK-S

DAILY BLACK-S

After popping some colors, here is my favorite color-non color, black! YESSSS! (Well, we already had one before and I know that there will be more in future ;) ) Even it´s not a pop-up color, it really makes me happy while I am wearing it…I feel most comfortable and it´s also veeery versatile and easiest to combine. Beside the black color, there are three things really important that I "demand" in every garment before I buy it: urban-sporty-but still elegant look, comfort and great quality (I try to invest in less and good, than in tons of cheap-season clothes...i guess that there is some truth in that with years and getting older, you also get wiser, experienced ;) )
Two daily outfits with its belonging shoes and accessories are totally me, a totally what I would Love to wear and have from my (soooo far) favorite shop LN-CC. All pieces are mesh-able, so you can make your own style, look.

Tell me what you think? What is your favorite color?

LA PISCINE

France is proud of its young, emerging and what is really inspiring, autodidact designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus and with his eponymous brand Jacquemus. Simon likes to express his love for France through his work and that happened with blue-white-red color motif in Jacquemus´s last collection called “La Piscine”. The collection’s main inspiration was the music video from 1984 by French actress Isabelle Adjani “Pull Marine” and is deduced from the classic French sportswear with a hint of patriotism. Nice cuts, well-made garments with 90’s pop aesthetic and with the perfect dose of rebellion,  a true ever constant in Jacquemus collections.

Simon and his brand are definitly on my "follow" list!
