MATTHEW AMES X WEEKDAY SECOND COLLECTION COMING

What could be an example of best news ever lately? That Matthew Ames will launch his second collaboration collection with Weekday. Yes, you´ve heard it right! Few days ago one of my all-time favourite designers announced it through his instagram account, by posting this photo. I guess it is from the collection. I simply can´t wait to see the result, but I am having no doubts that will be at least beautiful as it was the first one

WEEKDAY trousers / shorts (similar here and here)
DIORALOP backpack (similar here and here)
WEEKDAY leather pants (similar here and here)
ZARA sneakers (similar herehere and here)

The last few days are really fantastic. The weather outside makes you a false feeling that we are not yet in the cold-zone period, due the heat power of the sun and his rays. It´s more like in the beginning of the spring and I am not complaining about it, at all! :) Things that never change for me is my passion for black...taaa daaaa, not a big surprise, right? ;) This one is more-like an urban version of me, walking around and re-playing (singing) this track in my mind. Did you recognize my new bomber jacket, the Zorec bomber jacket? It´s super cozy-cool...Love it!

MTWTFSS/HE

That´s how I excactly dreamed (awake) of possible Weekday collection. From my mouth to god´s ears, the collection is here...an unisex..no let´s just say  a gender-free capsule collection. They named it MTWTFSS/HE and  is a limited edition compilation of classic pieces with a twist.  The design team have questioned why clothes should reflect society’s gender stereotypes, and created a genderless collection with focus on design and detail rather than out-dated archetypes.

Can not wait!! Cream and whites, here I come.

p.s.: the collection will be out in February 2014

METELKOVA MESTO

NIKE ROSHERUN "OS" MARBLE (here, here or in different two colors here)

I was in Ljubljana few days ago, visiting my friend, chilling, enjoying nice food and I didn´t miss to introduce you the most artistic, iconic and avant-garde place in Ljubljana, Metelkova mesto.
Metelkova mesto (Metelkova city in English) is an internationally-renowed center of cultural and artisanal pro-creation , political activity and independent cultural production of music, theatre, painting, video installations, comics, sculpture and other arts. A self-declared “Autonomous Culture Zone”,  Metelkova Mesto occupies the former “Fourth of July” military barracks originally commissioned by the Austro-Hungarian army back in 1882 and completed in 1911. The space consists of seven buildings and12,500m2 - making it a sort of city within a city - comprising a former prison (now Celica Hostel), several clubs, live music spaces, art galleries and artist studios. Metelkova has a nonstop events schedule and is arguably the best after-dark destination in Ljubljana for those looking to experience something wholly unique and unpredictable.
You can take a look on this short video, made by a Spanish travel documentary producer and host Ruben Alonso, where he shows us around Metelkova mesto.

ALTERNATIVE

Wearing:
MITWTFSS WEEKDAY "Jaya" trousers
 NADIR TEJANI sleeveless,
FALKE socks
 Vintage brogues
 Rolled clutch by PEDRO KORSHI

I have always a "problem" during summer time (when the weather is quite humid and the heat lasts through the late night, like it was in last few days) what to wear for dinner time (especially when is not just a quick salad thing).
Yesterday me and my half joined a couple of friends that we didn´t see for a long time. What to wear? Men in this cases always optate for a classic (possibly slim fit...and not too slim please!) shirt with a nice pair of jeans or custom made pants. It´s cool, classy...and it became boring for me (every time the same thing). I decided to wear light (mostly cotton with viscose) 3/4 trousers (shorts, yes :) ) with a bit structured and thick sleeveless top (100% cotton) and accessorized only with black pair of brogues and rolled (sort of) clutch. Easy clean, elegant, but fresh and different.

What do you think? What do you wear during summer warm) nights out?

p.s.: some photos looks funny-scary ... need to smile more next time ;)

FASHION COLLABORATION // "PRAIRE" / MATTHEW AMES X WEEKDAY

American post-minimalist Matthew Ames will make his return to the high street with "Prairie" – a denim based collection made exclusively for Weekday

Matthew Ames’ signature style is deceptively simple with a certain ease and intrinsic elegance. It was that style, which caught the eye of the Festival de la Mode in Hyères back in 2004 and five years later the jury of Ecco Domani Fashion Award. All eyes seemed to be on Matthew Ames when he left the scene in 2011 for a tutorship at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

This spring his creations can once again be found throughout Europe via a collaboration with Weekday. The collection – Prairie – is an elegant line inspired by the purity of the prairie landscape and the American architectural style The Prairie School.

"It’s about focusing on what is integral to the design. It’s something quiet, but powerful. The Prairie School developed a new vocabulary for design and aesthetics that considered the way people live. The collection for Weekday represents these same goals", says Matthew Ames.

Matthew Ames has become known for his close attention to detail and craftsmanship that always strives for simplicity and purity. Most of the pieces come in denim, they are timeless and designed to stay in the customers wardrobe for many years. Simply put, Matthew Ames' collection is more about individual garments than overall fashion.

"Weekday are really known for their work with denim, so I thought it could be exciting to bring this into the collection in a new way. Historically denim is something very American, but now has obviously been adopted all over the world. So I think it makes great sense for this collaboration between an American designer and Weekday, a Swedish brand", says Matthew Ames.
