REVERSIBLE BOMBER JACKET

Beside having distinctive dramatic descended-shoulders and boxy-fit, this custom-made beauty by Petja Zorec has also two sides; a romantic one, emphasized with lace and a monochrome one in total black, wool-blended material. You can guess my mood anytime now on and/or order your custom-made one too.

Nekje, nekoč...za vedno Garevski

Somewhere, once…was a title of a very special and touching fashion event and charity auction in honour of a designer who in last 17 years enormously marked and raise the level of fashion in Slovenija, Zoran Garevski happened this past Tuesday 29th April in Ljubljana, Stara elektrarna.  That day was also Zoran´s birthday and he wanted to celebrate it in a special way; 34 his friends –designers:  Peter Movrin, Dajana Ljubičić , Sanija Reja, Katja Magister, Nena Florjančić, Anđela Lukanović, Nina Tomažin, Ana Jelinič, Petja Zorec, Špela Hvale, Barbara Vrbančič, Barbara Krmelj, Matic Veler, Maja Leskovšek, Sofija Urumović, Sara Valenci, Elena Fajt, Almira Sadar, Vesna Mirtelj, Barbara Podlogar, JSP - Jelena in Svetlana Proković, Urša in Tomaž Draž, Urša Drofenik, Anja Mlakar, Maja Mehle, Marta Kosturska, Petra Grmek, Gia Gruden, Nina Šušnjara, Romi Bukovec, Goga Štiftar, Olgafacesrok - Olga Košica in Rok Marinšek ter Marjeta Grošelj, made their own-unique garment inspired by Zoran´s work.  All pieces shown on the runway were then gone on the auction. The raised money was donated to a hospice house “Hopsic” where Zoran is currently living and which very kind stuff is taking care of him. The lesson of life came from the designer itself, who despite his illness was present in first person during the whole event. His and Hospic motto is: “Give life to your days and not days to your life”.

You can still participate to maintain the service and the mission of hospice house “Hospic” (to give the complete care to very ill people in their final stage of the disease and to their family, where patients are accommodated, for free):

- by sending an SMS with the word “HOSPIC5” on a number 1919. In this way with each SMS you will donate 5 Eur to hospice house “Hospic

- or you can transfer a random amount on their bank account IBAN SI56 0700 0000 2061 243 (GB d.d., Kranj)

The last few days are really fantastic. The weather outside makes you a false feeling that we are not yet in the cold-zone period, due the heat power of the sun and his rays. It´s more like in the beginning of the spring and I am not complaining about it, at all! :) Things that never change for me is my passion for black...taaa daaaa, not a big surprise, right? ;) This one is more-like an urban version of me, walking around and re-playing (singing) this track in my mind. Did you recognize my new bomber jacket, the Zorec bomber jacket? It´s super cozy-cool...Love it!

THE ZOREC BOMBER JACKET

One of things that I always wished to own and searched almost everywhere was a bomber jacket, actually a perfect one! Finally I found it...and do I need to write down that now I also own it? ;) But let´s start from the beginning. What a perfect thing is? Perfection as a meaning by itself it is a quite boring status...but following or longing for it, it´s stimulating. In the terms of clothing and in my specific case, the perfect bomber jacket that I´ve looking for ages (btw, did I mention to you that I was looking for his winter version?) must have following properties:

- a classic and timeless piece, but still fresh and modern
- warm
- soft and comfortable
- day to night version
- minimalistic in details

That was my ideal-list to check every time I found an interesting version of that jacket, but I always missed something...until Petja Zorec made one for her capsule collection and  so she made also the end  to my re-search (thank you Petja!). The Zorec bomber jacket with a wool patent is a double-face version: one in a soft high-tech shell and the other version in an interesting blue lace with a white contrast (on the photo you see the first version with a lace side lining). A two in one timeless piece.

To be precise, the title needed to be "between Pines" :), but it sounds funny ;). Really liked the place; a bit darker and kind minimal (if nature with all her beauty and variations could ever be?). There was only one thing i really missed; the smell of Pines (this part was made mostly by dried Pine trees, so no aroma)...it´s quite aromatic (remember how rosemary smells, we are close with the intensity) and really fresh.
Some studies (aha, we are there...what scientist didn´t study yet?) said that  Pine trees are known to release negative ions to help freshen the air we breathe, lift our mood and relieve stress.

A great combo during hot summer days: fresh and calming air ;)

BETWEEN SENSE AND SANITY

One of participants of this the 5th edition of FASHIONCLASH Maastricht were also YOUNG@SQUAT. The group composed by designers: Peter Movrin, Sanija Reja, Petja Zorec, Anđela Lukanovič, Ivan Rocco, Špela Hvale, Ana Jelinič Nina Tomažin. Dajana Ljubičič, Nena Florjančič and Katja Magister, presented their last collection under the name "Between sense and sanity".

They described the collection:"as a bold, daring and cool fusion of both craft and modern techniques showing expertise in fashion textile design combined with a fearless future-vision.he project (collection) is a challenge to us – we set a broad theme, which opens new questions and problems; what is between sense and sanity? How different is it from nonsense and insanity? "

PETJA ZOREC // "2205985500000" / F/W 2013/2014

Petja not long ago described herself to Katja Horvat (Projekt 27) as an workaholic wo(man) with male Russian name, who is always ready for action. After knowing her in person i would add a strong personality with no double meanings, sincere, always positive and simple; she is one of few (sadly not that much) designers i adore in Slovenija and make a fashion (yes, i will use this word in this case) trip to Ljubljana more than a valuable reason.

At the beginning of this month (exactly 09 of April) during Phillips Fashion Week in Ljubljana (it was from 08 to 10 of April at Kino Šiška), she presented her last collection; a F/W 2013/2014 collection named "2205985500000".

"Starting point for the collection is the moment, when emotions overcome you; memories of the past about people, that you liked them. Memories of most unusual events that from unknown reasons always return in front of your eyes. Like the family portrait or the plaid which plush edge calmed you down before sleep, dishcloth on edge of a dining table, rests of yarns in the grandparents knitting room,...a moment, that doesn't have the connection with reality, but however it comes on plan next to certain trigger and it numbs us."

MOODBOARD

"This male collection marks tactile and arty prominent materials, that work softly and comfortably. Patterns are contrasting to themselves in silhouettes, because on one side they are showing rigorous men pieces and on the other playfulness of oversize sweaters and tracksuits. Yarn in the color of a fuchsia is as an accent showing the tender side of masculine gender. The collection is based on an emotionally mature male, who successfully combines the responsible side and the inner child part." - this is how described Petja the collection to me.
