WOMEN SHOULD WEAR CLOTHES

Lippes "silent-obsession" for lightness and movement, were for the S/S 2016 inspired by two great artists, each from different art-sphere. Prints and the colour palette were almost literally inspired by Agnes Martin, the American abstract painter, translated in pleated asymmetric silk dress, artist´s smock-coat, a navy twill jumpsuit and bleached denim. The less obvious inspiration came from Nina Simone and hers hidden-sensual-elegant allure, seen in the blue and white cotton shirt or silk hand-macraméd pieces. Everything in the name of his mantra; that he doesn´t want the clothes to wear the woman. 

GUAYABERA

The resort 2016 by Adam Lippes is Cuba-inspired. What is a typical Cuban garment? A basic men´s shirt named “the guayabera”. Lippes versions are enriched by embroideries and fringes seen in dresses and tunics. The 27-looks collection include also side-tied sheer dresses, wide tailored pants, leather overalls, pleated pants and the belted blazer, draped silk, skirt hand-crocheted sweaters, some others made from cashmere, waxed cotton trench-coat, cotton caftans and  the camel hair coat and jacket. Bold colours like lime-yellow and red among black, white, midnight blue and different shades of greens. Lippe´s lady like to spice-up everything with some bold shoes, like leather boots in red or animal print.

vaccarello´s debut collection for VERSUS VERSACE

We did say it many times and nothing has changed; actually fashion in its schedule-calendar things is getting crazier and crazier. Summer didn´t officially started yet, while many fashion houses are into their pre-fall 2016 season already. We are also one, max two steps away before the S/S2016 menswear´s collections will start. To get even more confused with all seasons and everything (the best way to know in which season are we now, is to look your weather situation) “helped us” Versace.  Few days ago the Italian fashion house showcased in London the F/W 2015/2016 collection for Versus Versace; the debut one by Anthony Vaccarello. In total 17 looks, three among them for men, full of Versace dna (and super-pleased that there are no logos and fluos).  You can take a look and even buy already the pieces from the collection on their main site.

ORGANIC, ELEGANT AND SPORTY

Silhouettes and prints for the Adam Lippes Resort 2014 collection were inspired by the French visual artist Willy Daro knowns decorative objects, such as organically shaped lamps and tables. Exquisite materials, like brushed cashmere, cotton, silk, wool and denim were reflected in the long fluid coats, high-waisted pants, robe-like coats and light chambray tops. Organic shapes for an elegant woman that doesn´t want to lose her sporty appeal.
