AMI S/S 2025 AMBIENCE

Leading up to the s/s 2025 show, Sisto Studios captured a captivating atmosphere at Ami's location, an empty Haussmann-style building in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, near the River Seine and some of the city’s most outstanding monuments. The former bank headquarters, awaiting renovation, showcase vast, bare spaces that sharply contrast their ornate stucco decorations.

ELEGANT, SOPHISTICATED AND A BIT PRAGMATIC

Imagine the end of a sunny day, when the light fades just before sunset, deserted streets bathed in golden light, a perfect backdrop for Ami S/S 2025 collected, which took place in an empty Haussmann-style building in SaintGermain-des-Prés, close to the River Sein. Alexandre Mattiussi's focus for the upcoming summer is on Ami essentials, so-called core pieces "built" with quality materials, like light wool and soft cotton.

Alexandre Mattiussi opened his fifth eponymous store. After Paris and Tokio, the new mecca where to find effortless wardrobe of stylish, well-made and wearable men's clothes, avoiding season trend references, is located in the heart of Mayfair, London. Once this address was housed by the patisserie, now transformed with the help of brand´s long-time collaborators from the architects Studio KO. The two-floors space with a total surface of 240 square meters features an interior made of contrasting materials, like vivid yellow ceramic, wood, brass, white painted brick-walls, mirrors and the black paint detail on the parquet flooring.

YOUTHFUL AND FRESH

We are back to high school. No, I am not kidding. At least because of two things; first, the Ami S/S 2015 collection was presented in a real Parisian high school, with few real students among other guests of the show. Second, the inspiration for the collection Alexandre Mattiussi found in John Hughes movie “The Breakfast Club”.  I can add a third thing, which is a kind a logical consequence of the first two - the collection was full of garments appropriately for High School looks; cotton sweaters with logos, boxy shirt-jacket in Prince of Wales, classic school uniform, like a two-buttons blazer, parkas-wind breakers, baggy shorts, varsity jackets, ties, loads of checks and stripes combined with blacks or more bold colours, sneakers and I cannot forget to mention jeans, of course. I have few past-memories cravings here. A good remember.

Almost forgot...did you notice few female models on this runway? Is Alexandre thinking to start with a woman´s line? Maybe. The time will speak.
