DANDYISM

We all suspected that Co. has that dandy soul, which the brand floridly showcased in their last two collections, but especially accentuated in this one. Is the reason the set where the photos were taken – Marlene Dietrich´s residence in Beverly Hills? It may help to elevate everything, but I think that silk blouses with bow collars and dramatic pleating on sleeves and wrists, A-line coats alternately in fur or jacquard, men suits, short capes and lightweight dresses ornamented at least by some embroidery od sequined embellishment, gave by itself the idea of Co´s dandyism.

DENIM IN RESORT 2016

Did you think that there will not be a women´s denim report? Really? I don´t believe you*. Of course they will. Sorry to say guys, but fashion business is still lead by women’s-wear**, so it´s time to check what or where*** the denim is present resort 2016 collections.

MONASTIC

If Co´s S/S 2015 was an elegant tribute to the ballerina´s world, with ruffles and a high dose of femininity included, is the pre-fall 2015 almost innocent, because inspired by monastic dressing. Loads of blacks and greys, elongated silhouettes, with clean lines and a touch of volume mark the collection. Pieces, like a-line coats, cape dress, cashmere knits or a jacquard silk coat, are just one more prove that the label is continuing to offer luxury, basic essentials, without considering any of season´s trends.

BALLERINA

If you go through the CO S/S 2015 collection, what is the first thing you got in mind? Ballet? Ballerina? You are totally right. A former principal dancer at the Paris Opera Ballet was to Stephanie Danan and Justin Kern the main inspiration for this collection. It´s not only the fragility and subtle side of this form of dance sawn in the collection, but its force and strength too, especially in sculpted silhouettes. Black and white are the main colours with some touches of powder pink and royal blue here and there seen in organza ruffles, cotton lace and heavy cotton. Elegant. Feminine. Pure.

SOPHISTICATED BUOYANCY

The main game of the Co duo, Stephanie Danan and Justin Kern, for the Resort 2015 was to bring youth in the collection. Playing with buoyancy and fluidity, but still remain polished and sophisticated were their main goal. And they reached it.  Just take a look on their “first-use” of denim in their collection and you will see what I am talking about. Pieces were made from indigo-dyed chambray, without looking rough and with no primordial sense of denim. Co Resort 2015 was made by effortless volumes, like a collarless coat with a waterfall back and romantic touches with delicate ruffles. At only their sixth collection, it´s more than clear that the duo knows what is doing; they have “the key” of how to attract an ageless woman.
