GETTY´S PLAYFUL SIDE

Rosetta Getty merged two main influences for her resort 2017 collection, the colour palette inspired by the American painter Ellsworth Kelly, especially noticeable in pieces with colourful stripes and bold lines, and the silhouette is really back to the 70´s Los Angeles, meaning loads of flared, wide shapes, but also slim, straight and asymmetric. Nothing is left, everything is “on the list”, from polka dots to fringes, from flared denim-like pieced made in indigo tweed with clean lines and visible stitching to western-style shirts and high-waisted pants, not to mention knitted dresses, some loose ruffles and frills. This is a playful collection, easy at first-sight, but expressive in details.

DANCE EASE

The point of inspirations is that they are unpredictable. You can get them at anytime and anyplace, but depends on you how to catch, memorize them and consequently use, re-elaborate them. Rosetta Getty caught her major one almost by accident. She was at the Getty Center sightseeing the Jackson Pollocks, when she noticed museum workers installing the show “Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films.” Now you can double-guess what the subject of inspiration for hers S/S 2016 collection was. Yes, the world of dance and its pioneers like already Mentioned Rainer or Trisha Brown and Lucinda Childs. Rosetta translated the ease of the dance world into in its eponymous brands season-less statements, like wide leg trousers, wrap dresses and oversized tunic shirts. Not forget to mention the fact, that whatever piece you get by Mrs Getty, the material is the best of the best; even when a talk is about the crepe.

DENIM IN RESORT 2016

Did you think that there will not be a women´s denim report? Really? I don´t believe you*. Of course they will. Sorry to say guys, but fashion business is still lead by women’s-wear**, so it´s time to check what or where*** the denim is present resort 2016 collections.

PRACTICAL GLAMOUR

Even her brand is young, Rosetta already made her signature look, because the identity in one brand is much more important than you can imagine. The relaxed vibe or we can also easily say the new glamour, a practical one, is this time composed by long culottes, wrap piqué shirtdresses, jacquard jacket, skirt-like trousers, an apron vest and circular shirts. Getty´s new classic and fresh elegance, made of wintery colour palette with black, deep green, bronzed camel and a touch of lame and gold, is revived with a “floral” gown and formal trousers, made entirely of flower-fabric appliques.  She didn´t forget to add a very 70´s element too, very in vogue last two seasons almost everywhere; hippie-like floral-crocheted cardigan.  My favourite-brand list is now refreshed.

BEIGE-RIE

Beside black, white, dark blue and gray, is beige one of my all-time favourite colours. From ivory to darker shades, no matter what you wear and in which materials, always makes you that warm, embracing-like feeling.

CALM SOPHISTICATION

Rosetta Getty continues hers yet known signature of calm sophistication with her first pre-fall collection. Inspired by the artist Louise Bourgeois and by the architect Louis Kahn, Getty delivered skirts with irregular hems, crisp blouses, loose knits, wide pants, long coats with asymmetric fastening and subtle draping of silk and jersey. Simply lovely.

MUST HAVE ONE

Rosetta Getty is with this S/S 2015 collection in her third season of her namesake brand and she continues doing what she likes the most: making garments that can easily go from day to night and simultaneously she is paying a lot of attention to clean lines and natural fabrics. This time she was inspired by the work of artists of Christo and Jeanne-Claude. It´s about wrapping, layering and tying in the collection; pants, a bolero suit and a slip dress with wrap ties, coats with ties lapels and blouses with neck-ties. Most of the pieces are airy-light, soft and delicate-looking with some adds of tailoring, like the ankle-length pants or a sleeveless coat. Elements of wardrobe that almost every woman is willing to have; they are not denoted of a possible-current trend. They are timeless.
