Who would ever imagine seeing any Dior show
in Brooklyn? Well, I guess things in the fashion world are changing and pre-collections
are a good opportunity for major fashion houses to “travel “around the globe
and show their “in-between” works (most commercial one, so in major cases also
most sellable ones). Chanel is doing it for a very long time. Brooklyn is not
anymore a fresh place-to-show; do you remember the F/W 2014/2015 collectionfrom Alexander Wang? Yes the one showed
in the industrial part of Brooklyn on a day with extreme weather conditions. This
time was all calm, nearly sunny; more relaxing. Why Raf Simmons made that move
for Dior? And I must say a clever one, as it was also this resort collection.
The reason is in his new American clients.
Not strange then to see 66 outfits with a French chic with an American-sportswear
breeze. Really wearable collection (this
is the point of pre-collections) with the silk scarf having a lead role through
the whole show.
