PLACID

Samu Koski led to his studio-team whole Samuji pre-fall 2016 collection, without losing that arty-ease ingredient, significant for the brand. The team, headed by Jenni Väänänen, was inspired by Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershoi . Theytranslated the painter´s placid art of work, mostly described as muted in tone, into long, boxy-shaped silhouettes, made mostly of linen-silk blends.

TO MIND - SAMUJI

For all quality (material and craftsmanship) and long-lasting design lovers, here is one brand to really keep in mind. Samuji, creative studio and design house based in Helsinki (Finland), helmed by a Finnish designer Samu-Jussi Koski (he spent his early career at Marimeko), launched its first womenswear collection in spring 2011, while the first menswear collection, as a capsule one, was introduced in fall 2013. Their goal is to produce timeless and sustainable design, using quality materials from European and Japanese suppliers. The whole collection is produced in Europe and sold in their flagship store in Helsinki and also throughout selected stores in Europe, Asia and America. The brand use to bring each season two separate lines; the first is Samuji Classic, that carries timeless, clothes and accessories, while the second line, Samuji Seasonal, is more bohemian and colorful oriented collection.

p.s.: today I posted my photo, on which I am wearing their super-soft alpaca and merino wool jumper.

COSY MORNING

_____________________

Late nights (work´s fault) sometimes turns into prolonged morning...taking easy with coffee, wearing something warm and soft and enjoying rays of sun, while the birds are with their singing already evoking the Spring (please, be hurry!). What can I say? Perfect.

LIGHT COAT

Short or long, oversize or tailored, sporty or elegant, thin or thicker, belted or buttoned (or both!)...these are the options and also dilemmas when choosing the right one...THE COAT. The looking-finding-picking situation come almost twice a year; a classic, woolly (and many times "heavy") for winter time, and the lighter, cooler, a day-to night piece for a warming, so-called mid-season; spring and fall. The light coat is the best option during moody-weather...feel cold, wear it...it´s too hot, take it off and carry it with you (it would be difficult with the woolly one ;) )...do I need it during summer time? Sure, why not? Bad weather happens during the whole year, summer included. Plus many, many summer nights are breezy-bit freezy ;)
I am in the middle of that dilemma (need to make something clear here…it´s not a big deal, real problems are others…but fashion, is fashion ;) )in this period. What to choose? A thick cotton one (for now has a major chance) mixed also with some linen or light viscose-silky one? For sure a trench coat; useable for many occasions and styles. Probably I will try to not buy it this time in black or navy (is it possible for me?), but to choose one in a bright colour. Where it all came from? Hmm, I have already one in my mind. :)
