On June 19, 2024, at its headquarters on 11 Places des Vosges in the Marais district of Paris, Lemaire showcased the S/S 2025 collection, a highlighted juxtaposition of rugged and delicate elements, featuring graceful and layered ensembles contrasted with robust cotton drill and leather, as well as more structured workwear-inspired silhouettes. A daily elegance with a sensual touch.
The collection features a rich palette of contrasting textures, combining dark colours (Black, Dark Plum, Asphalt, Dark Chocolate) with clayish white tones (Chalk, Creamy White, Light Cream, Mastic) and washed-out pastels (Ice Apricot, Lemon Glaze, Dusty Yellow, Light Lime). Soft tailoring and loose-fitting cuts give the silhouettes a flowing nonchalance, while lightweight materials bring a sense of ease to the looks. The wind rushes into the ultra-light-washed cotton, animating the garments with angled armscyes reminiscent of controlled martial arts movements.
Trench coats and jackets in water-repellent Ventile® cotton feature large pockets and flaps. Womenswear includes mirrored satin, liquid knits, and shirts with metallic details. Accessories are adorned with bracelets and beads. Long silhouettes, including slit tunics and untied scarves, allow intermittent skin show. Delicate pieces combine silk jersey, habotai, and flowing crepe cotton knits for evening wear.
In menswear, the pursuit of timeless elegance leads to classic black and white with new off-black (Dark Brown, Charcoal, Dark Khaki) and off-white (Ecru, Rice Paper, Powder Blush) shades. Rugged fabrics like cotton drills are tailored into three-piece suits. Nervous cotton pieces borrow from the reporter’s wardrobe. Workwear elements are reimagined in lighter materials, like linen-cotton, ultra-soft poplin, and ultra-light tropical wool. Layering is achieved with loose, comfortable fits. The style extends to apron-inspired pieces, light shirts, and a large canvas bag with graphic artwork by Philippe Weisbecker.
