MINI-MAL FOR MAXI-MAL

Georgia Lazarus creates for Protagonist collections in the name of minimalism, elegant, timeless garments, made of clean lines, never boring.  Making minimalism is in my opinion the hardest work, because the garments fastly can become too rigorous, too rigid and, most of the time, very humdrum. None of this is a case for Georgia´s Protagonist. In every single garment you can find, beside best materials and perfect execution, very interesting details and/or cut and/or shapes-volumes. Just mind from this collection the oxford shirt with a wide neckline or in a hourglass silhouette cut jacket or the slits of the skirts, shapes of the sleeves, not to mention her clever use of materials to elevate already beautiful pieces, like for example lamé and organza for knee-length or short dresses.

This summer is, sorry to be frank, a real pain in the ass. Never that hot as it is this year. I know, the last year I said the same thing. Or I am making too much drama about it or it´s really getting warmer and warmer each year. That´s way I decided to start a sort a protest against summer and welcoming a bit colder days - like autumn. Best way? Yes, you´re right.  Start to think what to dress. Ha! Well, thinking about wearing a wool coat, wouldn´t help me now against the heat, but positive thoughts and mentally being already on the autumn side, I guess it would. What do you think? Crazy? Maybe. But I add also some elements from the summer, like the slides and the shirt dress. Done! I started counting...did you or will you too?

SILENT LUXE

The brand, created in 2013, has a goal to create not-screaming luxury pieces, sort of elevated wardrobe basics and by that, don´t mind simple T-shirt and perfectly fitted pants. There are perfectly cutted silk skirts and dresses, double-faced wool suits and wrap coats. The luxury part came with rich materials, classic-timeless, but still modern shapes and a so called hand-touch in each piece. The last factor was for Kate Wandelborn important in this winter collection. That’s why she gave a final, deconstructed touch on perfectly-fit pair of jeans or a slight sign of “being already worn „effect on high waisted leather skirts. Mostly feminine, elongated and soft silhouettes, with some men-inspired tailoring pieces. I guess goal is reached.

MODERN CLASSIC PART THREE

Protagonist is a brand launched by Kate Wendelborn three seasons ago. The brand is about creating garments, essential ones for women`s wardrobe. Let´s call it classic pieces, that at first look could appear simple, but the background, the making-off them is a complicated process. Their advantages are rich, high-quality materials with no less high-quality execution and the result are versatile pieces that you can wear with almost anything.  With their third collection, the fall 2014, the brand expands the label´s start-pieces, like polished T-shirts and sculptured pullovers, with adding new categories, such as sweaters, skirts and dresses. Playing with shapes and materials, the result is a new classic, a modern one, that is less formal, but more comfortable, versatile and what is most important, wearable.
