Once Andy said: "My idea of a good
picture is one that’s in focus and of a famous person." As we all know,
Warhol was always surrounded by famous people, so it was not that difficult to
find a subject of his instant-portrait. He carried a Polaroid camera around
from the late 50s until his death in 1987, making hundreds really good
pictures. Now, the whole collection is achievable for anyone in the new book
Taschen released; Andy Warhol: Polaroids 1958-1987 It´s a true collector-item,
containing many instant-images that you´ve never seen before. Among others you
can find Candy Darling, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Audrey Hepburn, Jack Nicholson,
Mick Jagger, Divine, Yves Saint Laurent, Grace Jones William S. Burroughs, and,
yes, Warhol himself.
