On Wednesday 09.07 died the woman, who created the concept of supermodel in the beauty and fashion industry. Ford Models, her company, created with her Husdband Gerard "Jerry" Ford in late 1940´s, became the top agency in the world. She reinvented the modeling business with one million contracts for the elite few and brought class and decorum to what till that time had been for many a seedy business.
Ford's best-known models included: Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Veruschka, Jerry Hall, Grace Jones, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Elle Macpherson. They had a big impact in the beauty industry. Others went even further, with (most of them) successful movie careers. They included Jane Fonda, Ali MacGraw, Brooke Shields, Candice Bergen, Rene Russo, Lauren Hutton and Kim Basinger.
