J.W. Anderson always works on the concept
of the body and form deformation, manipulation. Always into creating his own
silhouettes and proportions, that at the end his show looks near as an art
performance. This time he was inspired by the unconscious and psychoanalytic
art of Graham Sutherland, whose color palette he used in his F/W 2014/2015
collection. Corduroy skirts and turtle necks, with built-in bustiers,
funnel-neck tops, long skirts, twisted shearling tops*, dresses with
folded collars, a sweater with a built dress, blazer embraced with kimono-like waistband, etc.
He made again a contemporary art, more than a series of day or night garments; stimulating,
but unnatural forms that always fascinated us. What is the J.W. Anderson´s
future as a brand? Definitely not as a regular pret-a-porter making fashion
house, thanks god ;there are many other brands doing and keeping this role
perfectly.
