Originally from Hong Kong, Kay Kwok studied
for a Bachelor's degree in Womenswear at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In
2012 he graduated with a Master's in Menswear from The London College of
Fashion in 2012. Kay has also worked as an intern at Alexander Mcqueen and
designed costumes for Muse’s 2012 world tour and Hong Kong. Since the beginning
his aesthetic was characterized by futurism, always supported by GQ China. He
likes to combine quality tailoring, some street elements with digital prints,
geometric shapes and inspirations from cosmology. For his F/W 2014/2015 he
continued this vision. Most of garments
from the collection were made of Neoprene, like a tailored topcoat printed with
digital images, paired with neoprene pinstripe pants or voluminous samurai-style
Neoprene tops and skirts. A space odyssey or a space-age world, full of aliens,
rockets, galaxy and 3D elements, but always correlated together by the structural
tailoring.
