After you will take a look to J.W.Anderson´s pre-fall 2014 womenswear collection, you will probably have a sort
of déjà vu moment, as I did have one. Did many pieces from this collection
remind you ones we saw on the menswear F/W 2014/2015? Bingo! Yes, some pieces,
like ribbed, knitted tabard with its horizontal stripes in 3 color versions, are
almost identical. Well, it is the same one. As also are the black and camel
spiral-cut asymmetric-hemlined dresses. Actually are not a mistake or designers
lapses, it´s what he is doing for a couple of seasons (like here and here for example). To describe this, he
likes to use a term “shared wardrobe” or we can label it “unisex” pieces. But I am not here to label or anything, but
just to underline the great ability Anderson has; his great knits, a great
feeling and instinct for proportions and a wearable item. Maybe most of his
garments look to you too abstract for a possible real-life wear, but if you
break the show image, separate pieces are true jewels for your wardrobe. His collections are a perfect match for a
modern, forward thinking women, who likes to experiment.
