Simone Rocha´s collection is always inspired
by her family or her homeland Ireland. After the F/W 2013/2014 collection,
inspired and tributed to her two grandmothers, for the S/S 2014 was a turn of
Connemara, wild and wooly place western Ireland where she attended at the wedding
she was invited.
She said that the collection was all about “union,
marriage and love.” and she divinely translated it into monochrome dresses
formed with tiered ruffles, studded with pearled daises (the flower that represents
her in all collections) or lined pearls on collars and pockets. But the
collection was not just about dresses. For those who thought that there weren´t
any separates, were wrong. We saw simply tailored coats, sheer shirts and
trousers suits in metallic lace, prints in a mossy green color, inspired by the
landscape of Connemaran.
The finale, as tradition in all weddings,
belonged to the brides, but here with nude tulle covering their faces and
torsos ´s.
Overall it´s a collection with enough doses of femininity, sexiness and
purity.
