HIGHLY IDEOLOGICAL, SEMI-POLITICAL

Raf Simon´s S/S2014 is highly ideological collection at the Gagosian Gallery Le Bourget, between Alexander Calder's mobiles and some of Jean Prouvé artworks. In one part we have feminine inspire shapes, like the oversized t-shirts worn as mini dresses on the other part is in very colorful prints that recall the unsound logic of consumerism and the brand's power.
The dna of the collection recalls America's cultural confusion during the Sixties: the early Andy Warhol, landing on the Moon, sexuality, dressing as a political gesture rather than an aesthetic exercise. A sort of semi-political manifestation.
