F/ W 2011/2012 // GABRIELE COLANGELO

The collection proposes in-depth research on fabrics and on figuring that allows it to obtain effects inspired by the art of Alberto Burri. The wool is treated, figured, and pressed in a way that makes the surface like crepe, puffed up, in relief. Even the sweater is treated and mixed with different thicknesses of yarn, colours and compositions to create motifs that run along surfaces. Interesting for cuts and tailored constructions: such as in coats with asymmetrical edges or fur inserts in the back. Fur always finds a place in this young designer’s collection, revised with laser figuring, multi-colour mosaic fabrics.

Materials: wool in different thicknesses, alpaca, tweed, crepe, double-faced felt, brocade, lurex, leather, astrakhan fur, sheepskin.
