VPL by Victoria Bartlett RTW Fall 2010 / NYCFW Day-05

In a season full of colorblocking — one of VPL’s hallmarks — Victoria Bartlett’s collection still managed to stand out. From chunky knit sweaters and accessories to liquidy draped tops and sharp dresses, Bartlett used several rich textures to set the lineup apart. A sequin bandeau under a stunning metallic slouchy sweater kicked up VPL’s sportif vibe a notch, and a shimmery bra and panty set under a belted cardigan paid due homage to VPL’s innerwear origins. In the finale styles, Bartlett really let loose with ropes and braided fabric on paneled bodysuits. But even when she went overboard, like in the closing braided fur romper, it was still all in fun.
