Haider Ackermann S/S 2010 / PFW / Day four

Haider Ackermann aficionados will be busy clearing space in their wardrobes come spring. Delivering a lesson in sensuality, Ackermann deftly flexed his knack for draping and layering, deconstruction and construction. The body was center stage, from leather waistcoats that evaporated into racer-back strips to rolls of silk in mushroom, gray, deep purple and saffron tones that wound, bound, twisted and knotted their way around backs and hips, sometimes gaping at the hip bone or exposing a shoulder. Over these came sleeveless safari jackets in dusty leathers or deep-pocketed jackets that curved at the waist in front and fell coolly behind. Other day options included cargo pants in the lightest of silks and coats that were stellar, notably the collection’s divine crinkled silk trench. As for evening, Ackermann delivered long, lean and sexy gowns with red-carpet appeal.
