Ballantyne S/S 2010 / MFW / Day two

Postcards from Miami was the theme for creative director Dawidh Di Firmo’s collection, and sun-kissed models in spongy knitted jackets and ballooning shorts sure made the Magic City look enticing. Trenchcoats in coral hues were towel soft and suited as much for the boardwalk as the boulevards, while a floaty georgette poncho dress in a kaleidoscope motif over a matching knit dress underscored the breezy tone. Di Firmo extended the beach mood to the house’s signature handmade intarsia sweaters in silk, cashmere and linen blends patterned with beach ball, palm tree and winding orchid patterns, which added to the vivid summer snapshot.
