Neckwear

I was recently browsing farfetch.com and stumbled upon THE Blaak necklace. I wrote a post a while ago detailing my passion for alternative jewellery and having seen and lusted after it on the catwalk, I’m delighted that it has transitioned to sale though this sadly does not mean that I can get my fiscally challenged mitts on it. So, my appetite whet for jewellery, I hopped (admittedly very late) aboard the Etsy train, and found my personal picks of an abundant bunch.

Heading the hierarchy is blogger favourite Giia. Donned by Queen Michelle, Susie Bubble and featured our very own nude issue , her Wave pieces such as the one on the bottom right have been everywhere. My alternative favourites are the Sussy Roll necklace, a fabric incarnation of the Blaak piece, and also the lengthy Key Slice necklace, simple but standout pieces which would bring a bit of life and individuality to a simple t-shirt or shirt.

I’ve included a few more Etsy picks; from left to right – the more elaborate light green loopy knit by Isobel and Cleo, black velour necklace by Psarokokalo, which reminded me of Les Hommes’ A/W09 neck ruffs, the embroidered diamond neckpiece by Sarah Holden and finally the black felted merino wool tube from Vitalkim. These are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, now the tough decision as to which one(s) to choose...
