Teaming up in the late 1990s, Teller has gone on to produce campaigns for every facet of the Jacobs empire over the past decade - helping to affirm Marc Jacobs as one of the leading creative figures in fashion.
With the ads featuring the likes of Charlotte Rampling, Cindy Sherman, William Eggleston and even an angular Victoria Beckham crawling out of a Marc Jacobs carrier – friends, family and followers of the pair were all conscripted to get involved.
In celebration of this distinctly 21st century partnership, this month will see the launch of Marc Jacobs Advertising 1998 – 2009 by Juergen Teller - a high-colour collection of all the campaign images, together for the first time.
Merging celebrity, reportage, fashion and art in a heady aesthetic mix, the combination of Tellers’s intimate, low-fi style with his contrastingly hi-brow subjects is undoubtedly the key to the success of the campaigns.
