MOTHER OF PEARL

On the palm, light shivers: a mother-of-pearl vide-poches appears as a small jewel for everyday. Measuring roughly 16 by 17 centimetres, this plate-like vessel carries the sea’s memory, its surface iridescent as dawn breaking on water. Delicately smooth and feather-light, it strikes a balance between function and a rare sense of elegance.
Named for its purpose, holding the cast-offs of pocket and handbag, it becomes a stage for the overlooked: a ring, a coin, a stray key, perhaps a folded note.

A vintage piece by Les Objoies, curated by Océane Buret, it embraces conscious placement: each object accepted into its curve feels suddenly essential. To touch it is to register the ocean’s polish; to use it is to transform routine into attentiveness. Here is elegance without demand, design without noise. A fragment of poise for the bedside, the dresser, or the entryway, an object that dignifies the passing moment.
