Last month the London-based designer Simone Rocha opened her first US retail space. Located in SoHo, exactly at 71 Wooster Street in New York City with lux-neighbours such as Céline, Thakoon, Chanel and Byredo, the 2,400 sq ft space is a former art gallery transformed with a help of her father John Rocha into a sort of fairytale place made of handcrafted textile furnishings, transparent Perspex display plinths and hanging cubicles, mixed with leather mid-century pieces. Throughout the store, you can find many artworks displayed, among others a beeswax and acrylic cube by the Chinese artist Ren Ri, a series of silkscreens by Louise Bourgeois and a collage by Robert Rauschenberg.
