Sies Marjan is a new label of a Brunei-born and raised in Netherlands designer Sander Lak that debuted at NYFW in 2016 and gained a really positive response. Named after a combination of his parents ‘given names, the brand has already its own characteristic silhouette: elongated, fluid and smooth, built for full of contrasts, drapes, interlaces and asymmetries. The S/S 2017 is non-other than that, a continuation of Lak´s debut collection with garments made of fluid, silky-fabrics combined with knits and plastic-coated velvet pieces in warm pastels, natural tones and some bright, really vibrant ones. If we add that he was Dries Van Noten`s former designer, probably you will logically attribute his fondness for colour to that, but what he really got from Dries, is how to exquisitely execute each piece and the result more than proves that.
