TONI ERDMANN

"Toni Erdmann" is the new film directed, written and co-produced by Maren Ade who gained a lot of success during the last Cannes Festival. This German comedy drama is about Winfried, played by Peter Simonischek, who unexpectedly visits his daughter Ines, played by Sandra Hüller, in Bucharest, Romania, where the woman is working on an important project as a cooperate strategist. Believing that his daughter may have lost her sense of humour, Winfried decides to "play a role" of Toni Erdmann, his sort of alter ego, and annoys her with a series of corny pranks, to try to reconnect back to her. With what result? You should find it on your own by going to see this deeply touching, but at the same time bizarre comedy.
