One of London´s most anticipated restaurants has opened in late May this year on Mayfair´s Mount Street. This addition to a London´s luxury restaurant scene, is actually a new-born sister to a the worldwide famous Paris bistro Le Chateaubriand, opened near a decade ago and with a coveted spot on The World´s 50 Best Restaurant list. Father of both is a self-trained Basque chef Inaki Aizpitarte. He is one of the early players in the more casual bistronomie movement. The relaxed atmosphere bistro is serving an accessibly priced a la carte menu and its cuisine remains true to Aizpitarte’s signature synthesis of French classics and South American and Asian influences, but it also includes native English ingredients sourced by head chef Paul Boudier. Architect Clément Blanchet put together Le Chabanais´ bold aesthethic, made of shimmering brass walls, green marble and walnut and leather furniture.
