Jil Sander is known for the great quality of
the fabrics, nice cuts and a unique minimalism. This is the brand´s trademark
and it wasn´t different in the collection she presented for the next season. We
could call it “return to the roots” or “return into (yes, the S/S2014 is soooo
in that) 90´s”!
The all three gradients are present also in
this collection: essential cuts with really precise proportions, a big focused
attention on materials, one to create clean lines and nearly soft pleats by
twisting the fabric, the other ones, more hi-tech, to allow unexpected
performances (such nylon jersey tops or raffia coats). The graphic figurative prints were inspired by
the work of “Arte Povera” master Alighiero Boetti and enriched the non-so
colorful part of the collection, mostly in white, black and some powder pink
and pale green. But hey, this is Jil Sander!
