Norwegian designer Anne Karine Thorbjornsen made her London Fashion Week debut in February 2012 in the Central Saint Martins MA show. Graduating from the fashion college with a distinction, she was also awarded its Armani bursary. Prior to this she studied fashion in Denmark at Teko Centre; fine art at the University for the Creative Arts, Maidstone; and graduated from the Central Saint Martins BA fashion womenswear course with a first. Her collection was inspired by an unforced urban beauty and the draping of fabric.

About F/W 2013/2014 collection

For her autumn/winter 2013-14 collection, Thorbjornsen – who has also worked with Meadham Kirchhoff – has continued to focus on drapery, working with fabric on the body in an intuitive way. “As always there’s inspiration from an artist. This time, I love the work of Clémence Grieco. The feel and the mood of the collection is very much in the same spirit as her work and that of Angela de la Cruz,” says Thorbjornsen. This season sees an additional shift towards structure and tailoring in the pieces and there is always an underlying street edge.
