It is a beautiful moment for Carine Roitfeld. The fashion phenom is anxiously awaiting a new addition to her family (her first grandchild, due very shortly), launching her own fashion title. (the CR Fashion Book in September), and now, she’s adding beauty mogul to her list of accolades with a limited-edition collection of M.A.C Cosmetics on the counter this Fall.

It’s about time—after all, she has always been something of a beauty icon, with her smoldering eyes, falling forward hair, and legs fit more for the runway rather than the front row. It comes as no surprise that the collection’s 20 products pay homage to Roitfeld’s je ne sais quoi, focusing on sultry eye shadows and strong brows, plus a Good Luck Star stencil for creating a bit of whimsy.
The editrix will also star in the accompanying ad campaign, shot by Mario Sorrenti. Surprisingly, the photographs are black and white—usually a no-no in the world of makeup marketing, but if there’s one thing Roitfeld doesn’t celebrate, it’s convention.
