F/ W 2011/2012 // LIMI FEU

Menswear elements - suits, blazers, strong jackets - were given feminine flair for Limi Feu’s Fall 2011 collection, which opened with roomy trousers and a double breasted vest, both in charcoal gray, worn with a long sleeved floral print shirt. The collection continued in a similar vein: a blazer cut long in the front pieced together with a billowing skirt. A heavy overcoat with a bubble hem. A crisp white button down that trailed on the floor like a gown, worn under a loose bright red jacket. Limi Yamamoto learned from the best - her father Yohji Yamamoto is one of the most celebrated designers in the industry. But each season she continues to underscore her aesthetic, while always paying tribute to her talented father. To whit: bowler hats perched on the top of heads featured the subtle imprint of a man’s face.
