Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock’s inspirations were interesting enough: a weekend in Woodstock, fiber artist Sheila Hicks and the Seventies craft movement. Yet the runway translation didn’t add up. There were lovely pieces, as in the creamy twill sweatshirt with a print running down the sleeve, but the rest — a lamé and charmeuse dress with overall closures, bustier tops with mesh nylon sleeves, for instance — just fell flat.
