Nanette Lepore RTW Fall 2010 / NYCFW Day-08

Nanette Lepore showed a collection anchored by dresses and coats in comfy, rich-looking fabrics. One highlight, a beaded dress under a moleskin jacket, illustrated Lepore’s love affair with texture especially well. And, as expected, color also played a big part. Sweaters and trousers in moody tones kept the collection mature — as in an olive zip-front hoodie worn with inky blue velveteen pants. But flirty blouses and skirts in deep autumnal shades, such as a copper-toned lace henley with a purple and orange plaid skirt, stayed true to Lepore’s playful mood.
