Lyn Devon RTW Fall 2010 / NYCFW-Day01

“Beatnik ballet” was the tag line for Lyn Devon’s collection, which translated to a fine balance between sharp tailoring and motion. There were classic turtlenecks, luscious knits and ankle-length trousers from the Beat side, and fluid dresses plus cropped-waist and tie details reminiscent of a ballerina’s wrap sweater — all of which drew on luxe materials and a deep, fall palette of rust, moss green and purple. But more than anything, the lineup represented Devon’s focused point of view: designing a complete wardrobe for a polished grown-up.
