Neil Barrett has settled into an urban rocker vibe, which he tweaks from season to season. For fall, the word “hybrids” appeared boldfaced in his show notes, which meant lots of tailored pieces cobbled together from disparate materials and textures.
Primarily, Barrett spliced and bonded leather and wools, delivering blazers and trench coats that were part gray, part black; or wool pea coats with leather sleeves. When Barrett left the hybrids behind, stovepipe pants, badge-studded blazers and vests over slouchy Ts drove home the rock message as surely as an electric guitar.
