Inspired by their own vintage wardrobes, It girls Ben Grimes and Lily Parker join forces for a fashion label sold at Browns

The brainchild of BFFs Ben Grimes and Lily Parker, capsule clothing line LP.BG is the combination of talent, ability and innate style of two of London’s brightest fashion stars.
After meeting three years ago in Richard Nicholl’s studio, former Burberry girl Grimes joined forces with London College of Fashion trained designer Lily Parker and hit the studio in a search for creative salvation. "We started LP.BG because we both felt that we were at a point in our lives where we needed to start something. We had both been involved in fashion for a while but felt our roles had not been creative enough yet "
Drawing inspiration from their own extensive vintage wardrobes, LP.BG’s pieces combine sophisticated understatement with modern silhouettes to create a look idiosyncratic of London’s party scene.
Although taking high brow inspiration from the creative industries at large (Cubist artists, in particular Braque and Metzinger were the key to the fractured lines of S/S 10), the label still manages to encapsulate the capital’s microcosmic street style – re-working classic lines and adding layered texture and strong, simple colour. ‘We wanted to make the S/S 10 collection less severe, more playful and we are taking some of the shapes away from the body’, says Grimes. "We made an initial collection of 15 pieces that we showed to our friends who were all really supportive so we decided to take the plunge and make a full collection which sold to Browns Focus". And the future of LP.BG? “We’re currently working on some collaborations so watch this space…”
