Anne Valérie Hash S/S 2010 / PFW / Day one

The Converse sneakers said it all: Hash’s soigné collection was firmly grounded in reality, and more approachable than ever. Long and lean black evening columns — one with a dramatic vertical ruffle running down one side, another with short, sheer sleeves — had the ease of loungewear. Ditto for a loose romper: the top half a delicate organza blouse, the shorts slung low like a skateboard kid’s. Hash never met a fashion paradox she didn’t like — masculine and feminine being an all-time favorite. This time, the contrast of evening fabrics and sporty shapes gave her collection a youthful energy. While some of the looks were far too plain for a designer collection, a suite of dresses in metallic organza packed a decent fashion wallop.
