Moschino Cheap&Chic S/S 2010 / MFW / Day one

“Fashion is full of chic” was among the slogans spray-painted on big canvas totes at Cheap and Chic, a sure sign that Rossella Jardini’s second line is in touch with its funny bone — and keen sense of irony. Through a heart-shaped portal, in fact, came plenty of chic, with a distinct Spanish accent: cha-cha dresses in daisy-print jersey cultivated into rich rows of ruffles, or a simple black widow’s gown perked up by eyelet lace, puffy shoulders and slippers blooming with fuchsia carnations. And there was no shortage of cheek, either, from pink shift dresses stamped with “Shocking” to shredded minidresses in acid colors with a down-the-rabbit-hole quality. It all looked cute, young and fun — just shy of silly.
