Krizia S/S 2010 / MFW / Day one

The program notes were titled “Cheerful Designs,” which summed up the season’s lighthearted romp of feel-good clothes at Krizia. Placing the focus on dresses, Mariuccia Mandelli unleashed a crescendo of volumes, which went from slim and short in the beginning to swooshing ruches towards the end. In between were slinky belted numbers with exotic prints and more tricky roundish shapes, such as the derrière-grazing minidresses that conveyed a bubbly look and attitude. The fun and flirty pace continued with short rompers awash in sequins, striped Lurex tops and tank dresses — this season’s platform for the house’s signature panther motif.
